Mowgli’s Road - Marina & The Diamonds
Sometimes songs that don’t really mean anything are more accessible. A record full of ambiguous lyrics gives the possibility that everyone can draw their own conclusions and decide that it relates directly to whatever personal issue they want it to. Then add the haunting and misty vocal and almost disjointed instrumental and it almost appeals to people with an imagination thats quite like a twisted “unhappy ending” version of a disney film
Either that or its just a good record written by a band who appreciates a catchy beat and a half greek vocalist trying hard to be different to florence and the machine and bat for lashes by actually being strangely similar
